Position Summary

Casa Pharma RX is seeking a Texas-licensed Staff Pharmacist to lead our overnight operation. As the pharmacist on duty, you are the final check on every preparation that leaves the suite before morning — verifying calculations, releasing batches, directing technicians, and making the compliance decisions that cannot wait until daylight. This is a role for a pharmacist who is confident with a lean team, fluent in sterile compounding regulations, and willing to own the shift rather than escalate it.

Key Responsabilities

  • Provide final verification and release of compounded preparations produced during the overnight shift.
  • Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, assigning batch work consistent with each technician's documented competency.
  • Review prescriptions for completeness, clinical appropriateness, patient-specific requirements, and valid prescriber authorization.
  • Enforce USP <795>, USP <797>, and USP <800> practice standards and Casa Pharma RX Standard Operating Procedures across the shift.
  • Investigate and document deviations, out-of-specification results, and near misses; initiate corrective action where required.
  • Maintain controlled substance accountability, perpetual inventory accuracy, and all required recordkeeping.
  • Serve as the point of contact for prescriber and provider inquiries received during overnight hours.
  • Support inspection readiness through documentation review and oversight of environmental monitoring activity.

Qualifications

  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, or eligible for licensure by reciprocity prior to the start date.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited program.
  • Sterile compounding experience in a 503A or 503B environment strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, and <800> and of Texas Administrative Code Title 22, Part 15 pharmacy rules.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise technical staff and make independent compliance decisions without escalation.
  • Experience with a pharmacy management system; prior exposure to prescription routing platforms preferred.

Schedule, Physical and Working Conditions

  • Overnight schedule; scheduled start and end times confirmed at offer.
  • Shift differential eligibility to be confirmed at offer. *
  • Ability to remain on site and on duty for the full shift as the responsible pharmacist.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment when entering classified areas.
