Sterile Compounding Technician — 2nd shift

Cleanroom & Compounding · Stafford, TX · Full-time · 2nd shift · $22–$27 per hour plus $2.50 shift differential

Every preparation you compound is for a named patient whose physician has prescribed it specifically for them. What you do in the cleanroom is the last skilled human step before that medication reaches them.

  • Gown into the controlled environment and maintain aseptic technique throughout your shift.
  • Compound patient-specific sterile preparations in a laminar airflow hood or isolator, within your validated scope.
  • Weigh, measure and reconstitute active pharmaceutical ingredients to formulation specification.
  • Fill, stopper, cap and label vials and syringes to our labeling standard.
  • Complete batch documentation in real time, to a standard that will hold up under inspection.
  • Carry out environmental monitoring, cleaning and line clearance on the schedule set by Quality.
  • Escalate anything that looks wrong — a discrepancy, an out-of-specification reading, a damaged component — before proceeding.
  • Support a technician trainee once you are established in the role.

Required

  • Texas pharmacy technician registration, or eligibility to register before your start date.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work gowned in a controlled environment.
  • Ability to lift up to [cprx_token name="lift_weight"] pounds.
  • Careful, legible, contemporaneous documentation.
  • Availability for second shift, [cprx_token name="shift_hours"], [cprx_token name="shift_days"].

Preferred

  • PTCB certification.
  • Sterile compounding experience under USP <797>.
  • Current gowning and media-fill qualification.
  • Hazardous drug handling experience under USP <800>.

We will train you on

  • Aseptic technique and gowning qualification to our validated standard.
  • Our formulations, equipment, and batch documentation system.
  • Environmental monitoring and cleaning procedures.
  • Everything in the preferred list. If you are careful and you document well, we can teach you the rest — and we pay for your PTCB exam while you learn.
  • Second shift, [cprx_token name="shift_hours"], [cprx_token name="shift_days"]. This is a fixed shift, not a rotation.
  • You will be gowned in full aseptic garb for extended periods and will re-gown after every break.
  • You will be standing for the majority of the shift, with repetitive fine motor work.
  • Lifting up to [cprx_token name="lift_weight"] pounds is part of the role.
  • The cleanroom is temperature-controlled and cooler than the rest of the building.
  • Overtime [cprx_token name="overtime_policy"].

$22–$27 per hour, plus $2.50 per hour second-shift differential.
